1. What is Integrative Psychiatry?Integrative Psychiatry is a holistic approach to mental health that combines traditional psychiatric treatments with complementary and alternative therapies. This method addresses the whole person - mind, body, and spirit - considering biological, psychological, social, and lifestyle factors. Unlike conventional psychiatry, which often focuses primarily on symptom management through medication, integrative psychiatry takes and more personalized approach. Treatment plans may include nutrition and lifestyle, interventions, mind-body practices, nutritional, and herbal supplements, functional medicine principles, psychotherapy, and counseling. By combining the best of conventional psychiatry with integrative therapies, this approach empowers individuals to take an active role in their healing journey, fostering, long-term, mental and emotional well-being.
